Privacy Policy

Last updated October 16, 2026

qNurse (the "app") is made by Mundi Equity Group Ltd. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and where it is kept.

qNurse is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the BC Nurses' Union, the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, any health authority, or any employer.

What the app is for

qNurse estimates pay under a nursing collective agreement, using the shifts and details you enter. It is a personal calculator, not your employer's payroll system.

Information you enter, to calculate your pay

To estimate your pay, the app asks for things like your position (employer, worksite, classification, step, shift length), and the shifts, on-call periods, call-backs, call-ins and leave you log. It also keeps the name you give the app and the date and version of the terms you agreed to. This is stored on your phone and backed up to our cloud database so you do not lose it if you change phones.

Account information

When you first open the app it creates an anonymous account for you, with no sign-up, so you can set up your job and see your first estimate. Before the app saves any record, it asks you to create a sign-in. You can use an email and password, Sign in with Apple, or your Google account. Whichever you choose, we store the email address it gives us so you can sign back in, including on a new phone. If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email, we store the relay address Apple provides. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, and Apple or Google confirm your identity to it. We never receive your Apple or Google password.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by the App Store or Google Play, and by RevenueCat, which manages subscription status on our behalf. We do not see or store your payment card details. Your Firebase user ID and RevenueCat customer ID are used to link your subscription to your account.

What we do not collect

qNurse has no field, anywhere in the app, for a patient's name, medical record number, personal health number, or any other patient information. The app is about your pay, not your patients.

The private notes feature checks the text you type for common patterns that look like patient information (a health number, a room or bed number, a date of birth) before it lets you save, and asks you to remove it or confirm it is not patient information. This is a helpful check, not a guarantee. Please do not put patient information in your notes regardless.

Where your information is stored

Your pay records, positions, the name you give the app, and your backup are stored in a Google Firebase database in Google's Montréal (Canada) region. The people who can access it are you, through your account, and Mundi Equity Group Ltd. staff who need it to run and support the app. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and Firebase security rules limit each account to its own records.

Some services we rely on process data in the United States: Firebase Authentication (your email address and sign-in identity), Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (usage and crash data), PostHog (how the app is used), Meta (advertising measurement), RevenueCat (subscription status), and Apple and Google (sign-in and billing). While your information is outside Canada it is subject to the laws there, and may be accessible to that country's authorities. We stay responsible for it under Canadian privacy law wherever it is processed. Questions about this go to support@qnurse.ca.

Information that never leaves your phone

Your private notes about your working day are kept on your device only. They are never sent to our servers or anyone else, including when you back up or restore your account. If you delete the app or lose your phone, your notes are gone.

Your birth year and pensionable service, which the pension screen asks for, and your answers to the first-run questions, stay on your phone and are never sent to us.

Your certificate records, your learning log and your progress on claims are backed up to your account with your pay records, so a new phone has them. Deleting your data removes them too.

Notifications

Reminders (for example, about payday or a registration deadline) are scheduled on your own phone by the operating system. We do not run a notification server and we do not know when a reminder fires.

Usage and crash data

We collect usage data (app opens, screens viewed, features used, device model, operating system version, country) through Firebase Analytics and PostHog, and crash reports (what the app was doing when it crashed, with device and operating system details) through Firebase Crashlytics, so we can fix bugs and see which features matter. Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and PostHog link it to your account’s user ID (never your email) so we can see where people get stuck between setup and subscribing. None of it includes your name, email, shift records or pay figures, and we do not record your screen. It is collected from the first time you open the app. You can switch it off at any time in Settings, under Usage and crash data. The same switch also turns off the advertising measurement described next.

Advertising

We advertise qNurse on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which ads bring nurses to the app, qNurse includes Meta’s software development kit. It runs only while Usage and crash data is switched on in Settings. It tells Meta when the app is installed and opened and when a subscription starts (the product and its price), with your device type, operating system, country and IP address. On iPhone, it uses your device’s advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when the app asks; you can change that at any time in iPhone Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete the advertising identifier in your phone’s settings. When you start a trial or subscription, RevenueCat, our subscription provider, also sends Meta a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your email so Meta can match the purchase to the ad, without learning the address itself. Meta never receives your name, your readable email, shift records or pay. Meta processes this data in the United States under its own terms.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share limited app activity with Meta to measure our own advertising, as described under Advertising. We use these providers to run the app: Firebase (Google) for the database, sign-in, analytics and crash reporting; PostHog for product analytics; RevenueCat for subscription status and for reporting subscription starts to Meta, as described under Advertising; the Apple App Store and Google Play for payments; and Apple and Google to confirm your identity when you sign in with them. Each is bound to use your data only to provide its service to us.

We may disclose personal information where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to detect and respond to fraud or security issues.

How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your data, it is removed from our database straight away, including the subscription summary our server keeps, and copies in our daily backups are overwritten within 14 days. If you started without an account and then signed in to one you already had, the profile and position you entered before signing in stay under that earlier, unnamed identity; write to support@qnurse.ca and we will remove them within 30 days. Usage and crash data is kept by Google for up to 14 months and 90 days respectively, then deleted. PostHog keeps usage data for up to one year on our current plan, then deletes it. RevenueCat keeps your subscription history for as long as it is needed for billing, refunds and tax. Meta keeps what it received under its own terms. We keep anything the law requires us to keep, such as tax records of subscription payments, for the period the law sets.

Exporting and deleting your data

In Settings, you can export your data as a spreadsheet-ready file, with every pay line and the collective agreement clause behind it, at any time.

In Settings, Delete everything removes all your records from your phone and from our cloud database, and deletes your sign-in. If you signed in with Apple, we also tell Apple to revoke the sign-in. Deleting does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings. If you cannot get into the app, write to support@qnurse.ca and we will delete your account within 30 days.

Deleting does not immediately remove usage data already held by PostHog, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, subscription records held by RevenueCat, or events Meta has received. These expire on the schedules under How long we keep information, or we ask those providers to delete them sooner if you write to us.

You can also ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Write to support@qnurse.ca; we answer within 30 days.

Children

qNurse is intended for working nurses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app.

The law that applies

This policy is written to meet Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, because we are an Alberta company selling across Canada, and with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act in mind because most people who use qNurse are in BC. If a breach of our security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and to the Alberta Information and Privacy Commissioner, notify you as soon as feasible, and keep a record of it.

If you are not satisfied with our answer to a privacy question or complaint, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
